Elgar's Nimrod from Enigma Variations
The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) directed by Sir Colin Davis on Elgar's Nimrod.
Went to see the RLPO performed just now. In all the hurriedness I didn't check what's the pieces to be performed except Vaughn William's Lark Asecending.
To my surprise, I knew all four pieces performed.
N Elgar's Nimrod was played so beautifully. so beautifully that I had tears in my eyes. Absolute beauty...
programme was as follows,
Tippett Suite in D
Grieg Piano Concerto
Vaughan Williams The Lark Ascending
Elgar Enigma Variations
Vasily Petrenko conductor
Jean-Yves Thibaudet piano
James Clark violin
