dinner n yearbook
massive, isn't it? m eating more now, after being consistently given the stick that I am too skinny (2years+?). one particular stick from Sheau Ting was enough to let me decide i really need to eat more (since she has not seen me for many many years, then it really means that i m skinny). SO, more meat, more rice for about 3 weeks now.
well, at least I hope I can grow some muscle. if not, then there's a belly! pillow for someone then.
Got a yearbook to complete. yes. yearbook. 1 question was what would I be if I wasn't doing dentistry. Answer for that question no doubt is- Aircraft maintenance engineer.
2nd question. What would I buy when I get my first paycheck. depends on where I work i guess! (UK or KK) still no idea tho.

snow, the aftermath
ice. ice skating rink. slippery!
i remember slipping once when i was skiing in france, where i hit an ice spot.
n for the past week i have been using my hiking boots to walk around town. believe it or not it was last worn when i was in france haha. it is the more reliable shoes i had compared to my leather shoes which the soles are quite worn. Oh yes, i did slip once when walking back 2 my place with the leather shoes.
Now, the ice has all thawed. after the white, it's good to welcome some green. it's good to see the green of the the grass. so pleasing to the eyes, i realised.
p/s: my forecast for this winter is after a bit of respite, things will turn freezing again, around mid-feb to march, with some snow. Then, in mid march, a lot of snow. and things will turn better after that in easter.

the pope and the jew - it's clean!
Several centuries ago, the Pope decided that all the Jews had to leave the Vatican. Naturally there was a big uproar from the Jewish community. So the Pope made a deal. He would have a religious debate with a member of the Jewish community. If the Jew won, the Jews could stay. If the Pope won, the Jews would leave. The Jews realized that they had no choice. So they picked an elderly aged man named Moishe to represent them. Rabbi Moishe's Latin wasn't very good - in fact, he knew very little--but he was a man of great faith and well respected in the Jewish community. So he wanted a silent debate with the Pope. The pope agreed. What could be easier than a silent debate?
The day of the great debate came. Moishe and the Pope sat opposite each other for a full minute before the Pope raised his hand and showed three fingers. Moishe looked back at him and raised one finger. The Pope waved his fingers in a circle around his head. Moishe pointed to the ground where he sat. The Pope pulled out a wafer and a glass of wine. Moishe pulled out an apple. The Pope stood up and said, "I give up. This man is too good. The Jews can stay."
An hour later, the cardinals were all around the Pope asking him what happened. The Pope said: "First I held up three fingers to represent the Trinity. He responded by holding up one finger to remind me that there was still one God common to both our religions. Then I waved my finger around me to show him that God was all around us. He responded by pointing to the ground and showing that God was also right here with us. I pulled out the wine and the wafer to show that God absolves us from our sins. He pulled out an apple to remind me of original sin. He had an answer for everything. What could I do?"
Meanwhile, the Jewish community had crowded around Moishe. "What happened?" they asked. "Well," said Moishe, "First he said to me that the Jews had three days to get out of here. I told him that not one of us was leaving. Then he told me that this whole city would be cleared of Jews. I let him know that we were staying right here." "And then?" asked a woman. "I don't know," said Moishe. "He took out his lunch and I took out mine."why so serious
不知道是不是在這裡一個人呆的太久了,現在很像很不會講話。
兩個世界的笑話(東方西方),我很像聽不懂了。糟糕。

AVATAR

tham: eh? y cannot control u?
eddy: failed connection! need more hair
tham: hand hair cannot connect meh? your hair too short bah
eddy: u don hav the tail bah
(above is eddy's version.)
was really glad i watched it. I was totally immersed into the Avatar world. excellent it is. everything was very well thought out of, very detail. I liked the spaceship n helicopter design especially.
how i wish i live in tat kind of world. and not this kind of world where greed and money dominates human beings.
It talked about the energy of the planet. I firmly believe similar energy exists is in this universe. What you cant see or measure, does not mean it does not exist.
It somehow also reminded me of the american indians. Where they used to live in balance and harmony with nature, until the English migrated into the new found land and interrupted that balance and established the country now called USA.
It is so good that i am craving to watch it again. thinking of going to manchester's odeon IMAX. the best place to watch it again!
n by the way... i was aching when i saw the tree got blasted down. I ache for every tree around the world if it got chopped down. I love trees. They are just amazing. When i see rainforests being cleared for palm oil plantations, my heart really aches. We are so greed powered. one day, this greed will pay for the destruction we caused to mother nature, to the environment. How i wish i could be like them, the Na'vi, scowling to protect the rainforest against those that destroys it.
Oh n.. what i like to be in the avatar world? To fly. To fly those amazing creatures (wat r they called?) I really like flying, to feel free. and what about you?

S.N.O.W.
this is the most snow i ever experienced in liverpool.
liverpool is literally covered in snow. this is very unusual, being a coastal city, snow doesn't really accumulate to such levels. It reminded me of France, when I first went to ski there. felt quite peaceful, felt i was in mainland europe because of the amount of snow. It is nowhere near like canada or USA's. but it is significant.
so significant that my dental hospital is closed for the remainder of the week. extra week of holiday haha!
weather gone a bit upside down. this trend is called negative Arctic Oscillation (AO) where high pressure is at the polar region and low pressure in mid-latitudes. hence the cold blast of air towards most of europe, china, america from the north pole. Refer this BBC blog for more info. usually it is the opposite, or so called positive AO.
weather, it is interesting isn't it?

blessed
When I got back to liverpool, there was no disruption too. The flight and train, were just a bit late in arrival. Weather was sunny! very cold though. Nice to experience a cold london in the early morning. N what a good start, to a sunny UK on the first day i got back.
And the second day i got back, snow welcomed me. It's not thick, probably 1-3 cm only. However, it is good enough to make me feel blessed throughout these past weeks. The love and care from my family and friends. The blessing of weather from the Almighty. The blessing of God. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

Back to SCOUSEland
after juz over 2 weeks of being in Sabah, I am now back in Liverpool.
feeling quite tired. most things are settled now after i got back here. food, water and domestic stuffs. Feeling a bit dizzy too, i guess the slightly bumpy ride from KL - Heathrow is still inside my brain. I still feel up and down haaha.
will keep my blog in this dark theme till 31/1 in remembrance of my beloved grandmother.
it was good to see my friends back at home, however it wasn't enough. so many friends, especially karen, whom i wanted to talk and consult so much on, we only managed to meet for just more than an hour. On the other hand, it was good to hang around with my friends: ket bing, wivinia, tham, mitchi, fang fang, suki and nikko. didn't take pics actually, these were from my fren's mobile fon camera. This lead me to ask myself, which friends will be left in my core friends in the future? for now, i try to mingle around friends who are in kk.
time to reorganized and move. I really 1 2 pick up a bur, and do something on tooth. it's been a while. oh, n how much i missed my harman kardon speakers. It was great to hear them again. It was heavenly when they were playing the music. shud get a pair of them for my home in KK.
